What was your favourite subject at school and why? | Design Technology because it combined design and science. It was all about finding solutions to problems. |
What did you want to be when you were at school? | And engneer or architect. |
What is your job title? | Structural engineer |
What does your job involve (e.g. what would be your job description)? | Working in a multidisciplinary team - this means with a team of people that do very different jobs. Teamwork is really important on a project like this. I also work with an architect to design the building structures. It's my job to make sure that the design works and that the building structure will actually stand up! |
What's the strangest, funniest or most exciting thing that has ever happened to you in your job? | Apart from the London 2012 project, the most exciting thing is working in Ghana. I am designing a prototype nursery school for the government over there. |
What's your biggest passion in life outside work? | I love horse riding. |
