Step 1- The Challenge Brief

Registration for the competition element of this Challenge has now closed. However, you can still download all of the materials to use in your classroom or clubs

The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games present London and the UK with a huge transport challenge
Could your pupils help to reduce the carbon footprint of spectators travelling to London 2012?

BP and STEMNET have a Challenge for students aged 11-14: we are asking teams to make sustainable travel plans for the journey from their school to 2 different Olympic and Paralympic venues

The following amazing prizes are on offer:

  • £1000 equipment for your STEM Club (2nd place £750, 3rd place £500)
  • A set of Science Museum Club boxes
  • Student places on the VIP STEM Clubs Day at The Science Museum

The Challenge will take you up to. 4 weeks in a Club setting. Schools need to be registered via this website by Monday 15th November 2010, but do not need to submit an entry by this date. All team entries will need to be fully prepared for the local judging events which will take place between 1st and 8th December 2010.

Step 2 - Register your Team(s)

If you are already registered then login to your Challenge management page to register your team(s).

The Challenge will take teams up to four weeks to complete in a typical club setting. Teams need to be registered by their Teacher by 5pm on 17 January 2011.

Teams do not need to have competition entries ready by this date - their entries will be judged at a local session which will take place in February 2011.
